About a month ago, I wrote this POST;
I asked you what type of sewing machine you had and loved and what brand of thread you used for piecing. I was thrilled with all the answers, advice and help you shared.
Here is my decision on thread...
As soon as I find a store that carries these brands I am going to try Aurifil and Masterpiece by Superior.
I also took your advice and gave a sewing machine I was thinking of buying a test drive....
There we only a few things I wanted in a machine:
a strong workhorse
one that could work with any thickness of fabric
no fancy stitches
no embroidery

just one who would sew and not give me any trouble.
I already have two other machines with bells and whistles, I just needed a worker bee.
Well!!
Here she is in all her glory...
May I present the newest member of the family
My
Juki Quilting TL-98Q
What I love about this little girl of mine:
Comes with extra large sewing table
Needle threader
1/4" and 1/5" quilting feet
Feed dog up/down mechanism
Walking foot
Thread trimmer switch on the machine and built into the foot control!! (I just love this feature, no more starter and stopper fabrics)!!!
Sews 1,500 stitches per minute just as smooth as “butter”

Perfect tension
Holds large spools of thread
Needle down
Bobbin holds a ton!!
And it came with a 12 Piece Juki Kit Free of Charge
Which included:
Velvet foot
Shirring foot
Cording foot right
Cording foot left
Ultra Glide foot
Narrow Straight Stitch foot
Concealed Zipper Foot
Me & My Sister Betsy Ross Quilt CD
Me & My Sister Contessa Quilt CD
ME & My Sister Flower Girl Quilt CD
Me & My Sister Crazy for Baby Quilt CD
Medium Sewing Basket (it was pink)!!!
I only have one dislike and I know many of you will disagree with me, but, I do not like the knee lift that raises the pressure foot. The silly thing just gets in my way, so I do not use that part!!
So my conclusion is that after many years of trying to find just the right machine, I, Jane Elizabeth, declare this one to be my new gem!!!
