When I started my on-line store, KPK fabrics were very popular and I love bright colors, so most of more store carried that fabric. I have boxes of end of bolt pieces and Maggie decided to raid the boxes. This is what she made.

She is not a hand quilted as of yet, so she tied the quilt with floss.

She also picked out the binding from my stash and “allowed” me to add and stitch her binding. How kind of her; as we all now it is the BEST part of quilting. What a kind daughter!!

Little T also got into the action and helped Grandma picked out some special fabrics. He had such fun!!

Dear Santa.....

If you head over to the Jolly Jabber and send a letter to Santa, he is magical and can make fun things happen!!

Dear Santa, How are you? How are Mrs. Clause, the elves, and the reindeer? I know that this is a very busy time for you but if you happen to fly over my house and feel inclined to drop Pretty Pink Love U Fat quarter Bundle down my chimney, I would be ever so grateful!

Oh, you want to know if I have been nice this year. Let’s just keep that open for discussion!

The True Meaning….


As I was getting out my Christmas Decorations, I found our children’s Nativity set. I put all the figures out and little T went right to baby Jesus. If you put out four or five and ask him to get baby Jesus he does! Not only is he a genius, but he knows the true meaning of Christmas!!

Snowmen....

Wallhanging…

Not sure, you will remember this project but it started out with these cute snowmen I bought on Etsy.

Then I added red Rick Rack and a different border on each design.

I decided to try my hand at large stitch quilting…
So I traced a heart…and did the stitching in red.

I asked Maggie to write a little saying for the snowman.

I added a stripe on the bias for the binding ; and I was so excited to get it done that I forgot to wash it and you can still see some of the quilting lines.

I will take care of that before Christmas of 2010!!
I think I like how it turned out!

Also, look what arrived, our signature blocks!! They are all so wonderful! I am going to sit down and see if I have one from each state! A huge thank you to Melissa for doing such a wonderful job hosting this very fun swap!!

I make killer RK Treats. And that was what Maggie brought to Basketball practice for her birthday treat!


No Christmas Sprinkles for my baby! And no holiday wrapping on her gifts either!!

Back.....

Well the pneumonia is gone!! Hallelujah! Boy, all that coughing makes you tired; but my lungs are now clear. I am still on a steroid and an inhaler to keep the cough at bay….
HOWEVER,..
THE GOOD NEWS IS
I can start to shop..
Never you mind that it is my daughters 14th birthday tomorrow, much of my shopping has been on-line and in jammies!!

Last week I did not get a chance to mention that I won a giveaway.
Michelle at Dresden Quilter was giving away these beautiful fat quarter batiks. I do not know how, but I do not have any batiks, so this is such a happy win!

Wedding Quilt......

Wedding Quilt…

My middle daughter is getting married in July and it is time to start her quilt! She likes scrappy, so I was lucky and showed her the Disappearing 9 Patch and she loved the pattern.
I have been saving yellow and blue fabrics for about a year and this week it was time to cut!! When I make a 9 patch I work in strip sets; here are the yellows….

And a very special fabric.
When Emily was in high school, she had the chance to go on a school trip to Paris. She brought me this beautiful fabric. I have never wanted to cut into this fabric and now I know why; it was being saved for her Wedding quilt!! It is so beautiful and will add a special touch to the quilt.



I do not think it will take to long to make the top, but I hand quilt, so I had better get going!! Right!!??
