What a Swap…
Now this is a swap!! One morning I happened to be reading my blogs earlier than usually, this turned out to be very lucky for me!! I was reading “Once Upon a Quilt”. As I was reading, Christine wanted to know if anyone was interested in a swap. She was willing to swap one of her hand made quilts for 1930’s fabrics. My hands could not type fast enough to say”Yes, please, me”. She did, she picked me!! I sent her 50 1930’s fat quarters and look at what I received!!!
This quilt!!!
It is stunning, just stunning. The colors are just beautiful, and work so well in my family room. The pattern, one I love but could never do, and the quilting, Oh my gosh, even my husband, (yes, my husband) was impressed!! It was certainly serendipitous that I did my blog checking early in the morning that day. If not, I may have missed the chance to own this work of art; All the way from Australia!! I had to tell Christine that she needed to know it is in a home that will cherish it forever! I thank you, Christine, from the bottom of my heart!!
I have a few things to catch up on, such as cleaning, laundry, organizing, making lists and checking them twice!! So, I will see everyone in a few weeks.
Until then ~~~~~ Happy Sewing!!

Disappearing 9 Patch Swap....
I have turned off the comments for this post. I just wanted to give you a swap up-date. I always answer each and every comment I receive, but this time I just cannot. I feel so funny by not responding to all of you that have already left comments. If I did respond it would take an hour, an hour that I should be getting your blocks ready to send. So, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you so much for your wonderful and kind comments, and please forgive me for not emailing each one of you separately. You are all wonderful! And for those who have just arrived…
Enjoy the post!!
I am off to tend to business!

THE DISAPPEARING 9 PATCH SWAP 2009
Is now over.
I have the list all up to date.
I had 100 participants.
6 people kindly let me know that they would not be able to finish the swap. At that point, I was able to go to my waiting list and we then had 99 participants.
All but 2 sent in their blocks.
3 were late and will not be included.
After all, that in and out, we ended up with 94 sets out of 100!!
Not to bad at all!!
I would like to thank everyone that worked so hard on their blocks. The fabrics choices were wonderful.
Also, a huge thank you for sending in the blocks by the due date!!
I am now going to get them together and start to send them out.
I look forward to the quilts that will be made using these beautiful blocks.
Thought you might like to take a peek at all the blocks.
Now I need to go and sort!!
Thank you and happy quilting!!

The Day After.....
The Race….
What a wonderful Halloween we had this year.
It started off bright and early with my oldest daughter’s Spooktacular Race.
Here she is all in charge,
It was freezing out there!!
Here they are getting ready to run...
My three runners...
Mr. Fabrics, Middle daughter, Youngest daughter...
Then there was the Goblin race, hard to see but that is my SIL and TT running the race too!!
It was such fun time despite the cold and so well run that is now going to be an annual event!!
Maggie and I would like to thank everyone that sponsored her with monetary donations and with thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful for your kindness!!
Edit...
A huge thank you to all of my mom's blogging friends that donated to our race. It was a huge success and we were able to raise thousands of dollars for the family in need. love you mom, xoxo
Now that was just the morning!!
The rest of the day was spent with family and friends coming and going for Halloween.
We did have one special Trick-Or-Treater this year!!
Our little lion... His costume was a little big, but we think he was the cutest lion ever!!!
I hope you day was filled with family and love too!
