2011 ?????

Plans for the new year??
Nope I have none!!
This will be the year called…
See what comes along and work with it!!!
OR
Another title
The STRESS FREE year!!

This will be a tough one for me!

Strena Aetas

Aged we get to know,
sadly, perhaps, too late,
What life is, the miracle it is,
The lucky we are, the fool we were.

Stardust made of thought,
tremble sounds from the void
casting colours from a voice,
becoming man made of sand.

One new age,
one new day,
one more chance,
to open your eyes.

Once again you can breathe,
once again you can hug,
once again you can taste,
once again you can love.

There is no need for tedious socials,
no need for speeches,
no need for complex rituals,
no need for two faced wishes.

Our time is running,
the clock is ticking,
Your skin is ageing
is it your wisdom growing?

There is no need to cry,
Even if there is much to regret
There is always still time,
Therefore is hope to create.

A walking miracle,
the finest piece of art,
a perfect poetry,
maths, geometry, physics, chemistry.

A heroic irrationality,
A body full of vitality,
the universe has kneel before us,
what else can we ask for?

Dogon called it Dada,
Egyptians called it Neith,
Weavers of the Cosmic Web
This is where we live.

A cycle of cycle,
a wheel within a wheel,
minds of a master mind

so diminutive yet so meaningful.

Children of the void
becoming man from the stars
Stardust made of thought
The universe within us all.

The cosmic web of human thought
synapses, somewhere in there is you,
somewhere in there lays the essence,
the universe of your uniqueness.

The Perfect Poetry

The Ultimate Design

The greatest thing in the smallest place.

Curious the life of a man is
not knowing the power inside
not knowing the miracle of life
looking everything outside
while eternity lies inside.

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!

May all your dreams come true!

Happy 2011!!!!

I Won!!!!!

I WON!!!!!!
And I mean I won the Mother load!!
I won a blog makeover from the famous, yes famous Madame Samm!!
You all know this amazing lady, she has not one but two blogs.

And

On Christmas Day I took a little break from all the festivities and hopped over to my computer to take a peek at a few blogs. I am a follower of both of Madame Samm's blogs. I noticed on Sew I Quilt she was giving a Christmas gift to one of her lucky followers. I could not type my comment fast enough. In fact I was number one!!

Now after a while I thought, oh nuts, not number one, it rarely wins.

BUT when I went to bed that night I could not get it off my mind. I wanted some, any, a little piece of her genius on my blog.

My dear family let me sleep in the following morning (11 AM) BTW I was up at 5 AM today!!

When I awoke they said a lady named Samm called.

"What, why didn't you wake me up? You have no idea who that is!!!!”

I ran to my computer and there it was in full Technicolor was my new graphic!!

There was my smiling face and pretty pink bow! Bling and all!

Within one minute of looking the phone rang and it was Samm.
Now mind you we've only know each other from a few emails but this design was ME!!!

What Samm knew about me, WITHOUT me telling her...

I like vintage
Pink
And decorate in blue
That was it!!

And look at what I received!

Interesting facts about my design...
My girl was from a 1949 margarine ad
The font was the style used in the late 40's early 50's
The background design was reminiscent of the type of wallpaper used.
My name Jane is scanned blue gingham fabric, very popular in that time as was polka dots.

Luck is not my middle name, that is until now!

I am so very grateful for my new look. She is an artist. There is no doubt in my mind that Samm has a sixth sense.
Please do yourself a favor and visit her blogs. You will find her kindness shines through.

From the bottom of my heart I thank you Samm for all you hard work and your creative genius.
It will be a joy to post on my blog!

Deygan, Maidyarem: Light Defeat Darkness

The winter solstice occurs exactly when the Earth´s axial tilt is farthest away from the Sun at its maximum of 23°26´. More evident in high latitudes, this occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year. In the high latitudes this events occurs in December 21 or 22. Worldwide, interpretation on the event has varied from culture to culture.

Must of the cultures have held a recognition of rebirth. In this article I will introduce, perhaps, the culture responsible for origin this celebration, the Zoroastrian.

North Hemisphere Winter Solstice

Zoroastrians celebrate the winter solstice as a triumph of good over evil as nights begin to shorten as the time of daylight lengthens. This Celebration is commonly known as "Yalda" or "Shab-e Yalda."

The celebration was originally known as "Sheb-e Cheleh", and this term is still used interchangeably with Shab-e Yalda. Fire and light are strongly associated with goodness and Ahura Mazda (God), while darkness is associated with Angra Mainyu, the destructive spirit against whom Zoroastrians struggle. The Solstice was thus seen as the height of Angra Mainyu´s power, after which it wanes in the face of the growing light of Ahura Mazda.

Ahura Mazda, Zoroastrianism Culture

The solstice is also associated with the burth of "Mithra" a vataza that has come strongly associated with the light of Ahura Mazda. The world Yalda is actually Persian for Birth.

While the majority of Persians are now Muslims, Yalda is still widely celebrated as a cultural holiday, primarily marked as a time of feasting among family and friends. Celebrations can include the lighting of fires as a reminder of the triumph of light and hearken back to days where fires were set to beat back Angra Mainyu on his strongest night.

Zarathustra - The Persian Zoroastrianism Prophet

Theologically speaking, Maideyarem is associated with Vahman, the Amesha Spenta (Holy Immortal quality of Ahura Mazda who created the primal bull and all cattle, and associated with good plans and intentions). Maideyarem is celbrated in Dey (The tenth month of the Zoroastrian calendar, from de sixteenth to the twentieth day)

There are also speculations that by the Persian calendar many celebrated on the last day of the Persian month (Azar: The longest night of the year), when the forces of the Ahriman are assumed to be at the peak or their strength. The next day, the first day of the month (Dey: Khoram Ruz, The day of the Sun) belongs to God.

Since the days are getting longer and the nights shorter, this day marks the victory of the Sun over darkness. The occacion was celebreated in the ancient Persian Deygan Festival dedicated to Ahura Mazda, and Mithra on the first day of the month Dey.

Zoroastrianism Message:
"Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds"

Beyond Heaven: The Art Controversy of the History - Part II

Continuing with the analysis of the most controversial religious paintings, here, Its going to be commented about a painting that depicts one of the most supernatural events ever recorded: The annunciation to the Virgin Mary.

"Annunciazione" by Carlo Crivelli
National Gallery, London

In this painting we can see Virgin Mary partially bowed with her arms around her chest, in a gentle gesture of acceptableness. From the sky there is a beam passing through a hole in the wall, through a dove and finally to Virgin Mary´s head. this beam of light comes from what it seems a brilliant disk in the clouds.

At first impression, it looks like Virgin Mary has been communicated by a UFO above in the sky, and the dove working like a mean through the message is given.

Let´s make a zoom.

No, there is no UFO, but angels. So this clear this popular confusion spread through the web. This pattern of angels and clouds is old. Through history God, Jesus, Mary and the angels have been painted in the clouds representing their divinity.

But, I have to say, this wheel-within-a-wheel pattern of this angels, in this particular historical moment, let me thinking a lot about it. The coincidences grow in number.

What if...Can be a background in the relation of these divinities with the clouds and with the sky, which religious men used to give shape to their expression of faith in the first place? And, what about the unique pattern showed in the "Annunciazione" of a wheel within a wheel? Can this be related to the structure of a flying disk, or it is just another coincidence?

Let´s take a look at this.

For example, this painting from Chine in 1400 A.D. had the following original caption:
"Ji Gung Land: The people could make flying cars that travelled far with a suitable wind. in Tarng´s day (1700 B.C.), Ji Gung people flying car on a westerly Yew Jo. Tarng dismantled their car son it could not be demonstrated to the people...Later an east wind came on which he had them flythe car back to their own country (5000 km) west of our gateway."

Humm, how about that, 1700 years before Christ born, Chinese dudes flew. Amazingly this people describe these events in just the same way the renaissance artist did. Coincidence?

I would like to wish you and your family the
Happiest of Holidays.
See you in 2011!!!

Out with the old and in with new new!!!

What a great way to start the Holidays and a wonderful way to bring in 2011.
Our rooms are done!!
Well, minus the plantation shutters for the windows!!
Well, minus any new furniture!
YET, a queen size sofa couch is in the works.
Oh and for my room, for now I am going to use old tables, shelves, desks, and my husband’s old dental cabinet.
Anything I can get my hands on for my room!!
And you know what?
I am so happy because it is

MINE!!!!

Someday, slowly I will replace old with new but for now, I am on cloud nine.

A retrospect in pictures….

And I cannot forget all my new beautiful, wonderful light!!!!!
